Rosacea is a condition of the
skin referred to as adult acne that causes red blemishes to form on
the nose and cheek area. These areas are often accompanied by general
redness and broken and enlarged capillaries. Some researchers think
rosacea is hereditary, while others believe it is caused by constant
blushing and enlarging of the blood vessels, to date the actual cause
is unknown.
In its mildest forms, Rosacea can be difficult to
recognise but it most cases it always affects the nose area with red
blemishes along with red patches on the skin. Flare-ups of this
condition have been associated with alcohol, tobacco, spicy foods,
citrus, hot beverages, external heat and sun exposure. If you suffer
with this condition, you should try and avoid these irritating factors.
Cleansing and hydrating the skin with gentle non-cosmedogenic
products can help to ease the discomfort and negative effects of
rosacea.
